With countryside views, coastal paths, and endless wild landscapes right on your cabin doorstep, I can’t think of a better way to embrace Scotland - especially when combined with a Scottish road trip.

This list shares my very favourite places to go glamping in Scotland and it has so many options, from low-key rustic to full on luxury (something I especially love about glamping).

Riverbeds Luxury Lodges is one of my all-time favourite places to go glamping in Scotland. Located in the heart of breathtaking Glencoe, this luxury magical micro-cabins are nestled amongst the forest, each overlooking the river.
This is the best boutique cabin in the Highlands if you want a slice of luxury. Inside is beautifully designed and surprisingly spacious. There’s a compact and modern kitchen with a microwave, toaster, coffee maker and fridge. Plus, a seating area, double bed, and en-suite bathroom with a shower.
Each morning, experience the most delicious breakfast of warm croissants and homemade granola pots in your cabin.
The outside features are truly special, with a private hot tub, dining area, and elevated veranda overlooking the river and woodland.
The area: There’re plenty of great restaurants and pubs on your doorstep and its a short drive to the villages of Ballachulish and Glencoe. And, a 10-minute drive from Glencoe Valley, where you’ll find Glencoe’s most iconic mountains and the perfect place to go walking.
Highland town Fort William, with its cafes and walks, is a 30-minute drive north. And the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct and steam train less than an hour away.

Highland Shepherd Huts are some of the prettiest, and most unique, glamping huts in Scotland.
Converted horseboxes have been transformed into luxury accommodation and rate as “exceptional” on reviews. Beautifully decorated in neutral tones, they are the perfect place to unwind and relax.
Inside, these shepherd huts are individually decorated. But most have cosy double beds, en suite bathroom with shower, log burners, and a seating area. Plus, a modern kitchen fully equipped with all the mod cons like a microwave, fridge, and oven.
Outside, there’s a BBQ and seating area on your private patio, an idyllic place to enjoy the surrounding mountain views.
The area: Situated in the idyllic village of Nethy Bridge, you have a brilliant country cafe and pub on your doorstep. And plenty eating options, and shops, in the nearby town of Aviemore.
Plus, in the heart of the Cairngorms, you’re only a 10-minute drive from some of the best walks in the area. Made of dozens of mountains and trails, this location is perfect for getting outdoors.

If you’re road tripping the North Coast 500, these Scotland glamping pods are the perfect choice.
Tucked away in the Scottish Highlands, it features four carefully curated glamping pods, each is design-led and combines modern, aesthetic interiors and hotel quality service, with all the fun of camping.
There’s a double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, lounge, compact kitchen, and dining area. Some pods feature a copper bath tub and a private deck. It’s cosy and luxe, with plenty of wood, warm colours, and soft furnishings.
Outside, there’s a firepit, BBQ, and seating area - perfect for star gazing and, if you’re lucky, catch the northern lights.
The area: Set on the shores of stunning Achmelvich Bay Beach, these pods are in an idyllic location. Guests can immerse themselves in nature here, with hiking trails and walks on your pod doorstep.
Whilst located in a remote spot, there’s a handful of cafes and restaurants on your doorstep. And more great places to eat in nearby Lochinver. And, of course, some of the best spots on the NC500 route are right on your doorstep.

Home to the most stunning shepherd hut, surrounded by only countryside, Inshriach Shepherd's Hut is probably one of the most charming glamping sites in Scotland.
Outside, this Swedish inspired, hand-built shepherd’s hut is utterly charming.
Inside, expect heaps of cosiness with a raised double bed, piles of cushions, and a wood burning stove on a slate hearth.
As shepherds hut go, this one is rustic - facilities like the loo and shower are shared with the farm and a short walk across the field. But there’s also a horsebox sauna, a chest of board games, and a licensed bar onsite selling Inschriach's homemade gin.
And whilst there’s no electricity, you’ll find heaps of tea lights and a lantern - you can just imagine how cosy this little hut is in the evening.
The area: If you want to be close to nature, you’ll love how isolated this hut is; surrounded by nothing by horses, countryside views, and fresh air. However, you’re just 10-minutes from the bustling town of Aviemore with its eateries and shops.

If you want a Scotland glamping experience with breathtaking views then Fyne Glamping is the perfect choice.
Located on the banks of gorgeous Loch Fyne, these glamping huts offer beautiful views of the water and surrounding hills. Two pods sit side-by-side amongst private gardens, and each offer a luxury glamping experience. Your own wood fired hot tub sits on a deck and there’s screens for total privacy. This is the most gorgeous spot to enjoy a glass of bubbles. There’s also an outdoor seating area for those summer days.
Inside is beautifully decorated with calm, coastal tones throughout and cosy furnishings. There’s a king size bed, comfy lounge area, and fully equipped kitchen complete with an oven, fridge, and fridge-freezer. Plus, the en-suite bathroom offers a large shower, fluffy towels, and robes.
The area: Spend the day exploring the local Argyll area. Or take advantage of your private loch access to Loch Fyne for a bracing wild swim. And spend the evening stargazing from the communal dome or toast marshmallows in the fire pit. Bliss!
And, a short drive town from the historic town of Inveraray, there are heaps of shops, cafes, and pubs. Plus, you’re just an hour’s drive from Loch Lomond.

Each lodge sleeps six people over three comfortable bedrooms and there’s a spacious lounge, log burning stove, and dining table with benches. There’s a well-equipped kitchen too, complete with handcrafted surfaces and all the mod cons and utensils to cook up your favourite meals.
Plus, the bathroom includes a hot shower, toilet, basin, hot towel rail, and a range of natural bath products.
Guests are encouraged to soak in the surrounding coastal landscape - catch the sun rise over the sea from your own decking area, toast marshmallows in the fire pit, and spend your days on the beach.
The area: This is the perfect glamping Scotland stay for keen walkers, as the clifftop Fife Coastal Path is right on your doorstep, connecting the tents with the best villages in the East Neuk. Whilst you don’t need to walk the whole way, there are wonderful short sections to choose from.
Nearby, the charming fishing village St Monans and coastal town Elie are an easy stroll from the tents - the perfect place to grab locally seafood and produce for the BBQ.
7. Woodcroft Shepherds Hut
Location: Oban, Argyll

Woodcroft Shepherds Hut is everything you imagine a Scotland glamping trip to be - rustic, idyllic, and in the middle of the countryside. The interior is beautiful and oh so pretty,
Compact and cosy, a wood burning stove adds to the charm. There’s a comfortable double bed, mini kitchen with all the essentials, breakfast bar for dining, and an en suite shower room.
The hut sits on the outskirts of a working croft and is often visited by ponies, ducks, hens, and sheep. There’re incredible views over the surrounding countryside too and the popular Ben Cruachan mountains.
The area: Whilst this hut is great for being outdoors, it’s also only a 10-minute drive to the bustling coastal town of Oban and its restaurants and lively pubs.

Loch Tay Domes is one the most unique places to glamping in Scotland.
Each dome sleeps two adults in a king-sized bed, plus there’s the option to add extra camp beds for kids.
Inside is spacious, with a wood burning stove, lounge area and mod cons like USB charging points. Outside, there’s a completely private woodburning hot tub, picnic area, and BBQ.
For amenities, the nearby shared kitchen is fully equipped plus there’s a dining area with its own log burner to keep you cosy.
Although these glamping domes are conveniently located just a 15-minute drive from the village of Killing, its rural location is perfect for a relaxing break. You’re surrounded by mountains, with views over Loch Tay from your dome.
There’re endless options for getting outdoors here, with mountain hikes in the nearby Munros or boat hire and watersports from the onsite marina. Be sure to pack your walking shoes. Or simply relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery.
The area: As well as a bistro onsite, there’s plenty of great restaurants in the nearby village of Killin. You’re just a 20-minute drive to the village, where you’ll find the Falls of Dochart waterfalls and essential amenities.

The pretty glamping pods at Howe of Torbeg, located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, are the perfect spot for an outdoorsy break.
The location is truly beautiful, tucked away in a rural location amongst acres of open countryside. You have a small patio around the hut, complete with a firepit and picnic table for alfresco dining during the summer.
Inside, the pods are simple, comfy, and cosy with either a twin or double bed, heating, and linen included. However, if you’re seeking something a little more luxurious, then the deluxe and off-grid shepherds hut is an ideal option.
These glamping pods are off-grid and rustic and amenities are communal, perfect for chatting with your fellow glampers. There’s a fully heated shower block & loos only a few steps from the pods, an indoor wood burning oven in a shared log cabin, and a covered dining area. Cook in the fire pit or bring a camping stove.
The area: The location is perfect for an idyllic retreat to Royal Deeside and the larger Cairngorms National Park, and there are plenty of walking trails nearby. Although the historic town of Ballater is only a 5-minute drive away and has plenty of great cafes and restaurants.
10. The Fishing Hut

The Fishing Hut is the most distinctive glamping spot in Scotland. This luxury hut is completely bespoke and handcrafted, giving the most gorgeously rustic vibes. One of the best things about this hut is its idyllic rural location, so you can truly relax - though phone signal can be unreliable, there are board games, walks, and wildlife to enjoy.
Inside is beautifully decorated, with warm, neutral tones throughout and complete with a blend of charming rustic decor and mod cons like Sonos Bluetooth speakers. There’s plenty of space indoors, with a king-sized bed, en suite bathroom, and a log burner to keep you cosy in the evening.
Outdoors there’s a separate kitchen, equipped with microwave oven and hob, and sink. Plus, a dining area on the covered deck, a BBQ for summer, and a firepit. It’s all completely secluded, the rural location ideal for a relaxing break. You’re surrounded by trees, with views over your very own lake from a private patio.
The area: As well as the stunning scenery right on the doorstep, the glamping hut is located just outside of the Trossachs National Park, which means beautiful Loch Lomond and plenty of great walks within a short drive. Plus, you’ll find amenities, cafes and restaurants just a 10-minute drive away in nearby villages Drymen and Buchlyvie.

If you’re looking for a romantic glamping in Scotland getaway, Arcadia Glamping Cabins are the perfect choice.
Tucked away in an idyllic location just outside the picturesque village of Drymen, these huts make most of their serene 21 acres of woodland.
There are two fairytale huts to choose from, both carefully curated and rustic-cosy. There’s a built-in luxury double bed with soft Egyptian cotton sheets, comfy lounge area, en suite shower, and bathrobes. The kitchenette has all the essentials, like a small fridge, microwave, electric hob, kettle, and toaster.
It’s compact and comfortable, with bold colours and quirky design. You can just imagine snuggling up here - discover the board games, hot water bottles, and squishy blankets hiding in the under-bed storage.
But it’s the outdoor features that make these glamping huts so utterly magical. Your own outdoor bathtub sinks into the decking area, surrounded by twinkling fairy lights and candles. There’re heavy curtains all the way for total privacy, cosy blankets to keep warm on chilly nights, and an outdoor fire with piles of wood.
Phone signal is low but that’s entirely the point - these beautiful cabins are ideal place for a relaxing break and to get away from it all.
The area: If you can tear yourself away from the acres of woodland, its only a short drive to nearby Loch Lomond for wild swims and walking trails. Whilst the village of Drymen is nearby, with cafes, pubs, restaurants, and a small store.
12. Off The Track

Located in Fife’s idyllic countryside, Off The Track is a luxury glamping experience for couples seeking a tranquil and modern retreat.
The lodge is more self-catering lodge than glamping hut, but we love how connected to nature this unique stay is. Inside, decor is plush with warm tones and a modern aesthetic that fits the open plan design perfectly.
At one end of the lodge is a bespoke, king-size bed with sumptuous linens and a full length window bringing in the gorgeous vistas. At the other end, a snuggly lounge area is set around a log burning stove. Whilst the modern kitchen is fully equipped with premium appliances - you have everything you need to rustle up a wonderful meal for two.
Finally, there’s en suite bathroom with a rainfall shower, fluffy towels, and Highland Soap Co. toiletries.
Off The Track is nestled within a garden and next to an old railway bridge, but it’s completely secluded, with its own decked area and wood-fired hot tub. There’s also an outdoor heater, armchairs, firepit, and wooden loungers. It’s one of the best glamping spots in Scotland and if you’re looking to go glamping in Fife, then this is a seriously gorgeous stay.
The area: The charming village of Crail is only a 30-minute walk away and there’s plenty to see and do, including lots of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. And you’re within walking distance of the dramatic Fife Coastal Path.
It’s a 15-minute drive to the historic town of St Andrews, 5-minutes to the most glorious white sandy beach at Kingsbarns, and 10-minutes to pretty fishing village Pittenweem.
13. The Yurts

The Yurts offers uninterrupted views over the Perthshire countryside, and it’s the most gorgeous place to watch the world go by. The yurt is a unique Scotland glamping experience, with a king-size bed, wood burner, and a wood fired hot tub.
This yurt has been cleverly designed, made up of two yurts joined together, and the living area is incredibly spacious. Inside you’ll find everything you need for a luxury stay, like feather duvets, fully equipped kitchen, ample storage, and a 12-foot en suite bathroom with a shower, heated towel rails, and a luxury roll top bathtub.
Guests can also book a number of incredible services, from pamper sessions to and beauty treatments, to enjoy in your yurt.
Nestled at the bottom of a field, outdoors is completely secluded, with a BBQ, hot tub, and seating area on a private decking area. You can just imagine sipping champagne as the sun sets over the hills. This is one of the best, and most romantic, glamping spots in Scotland.
The area: You’re within driving distance of Auchterarder, a small town with heaps of cafes and restaurants. Gleneagles, with its golf course and hotel, is also nearby. Outdoor lovers should bring their hiking boots - there are wonderful walking routes all around, plus the yurts overlook Ben Vorlich, one of the easiest Munros in Perthshire.

If you’re looking to get away from it all, the magical shepherds huts at Craigduckie in Fife are the perfect choice.
The secluded position on a working farm offers beautiful countryside views and makes the most of the beautiful Fife landscape, surrounded by nothing but the resident sheep, pigs, and fresh country air.
There are two huts to choose from, both handmade, and both perfect for either a romantic weekend away or a family trip. Each features a double bed, pull down bunk, power shower, and wood burning stove. Plus, a fully equipped kitchen has all you need - hob, oven, and fridge.
There’re home comforts too, with sumptuous bedding and fluffy towels. And at night, enjoy alfresco dining whilst gazing at the stars and toasting marshmallows on the BBQ or firepit.
The area: Be sure to bring your wellies and take a tour of the family run farm and meet its cute animals. Or take a stroll through the nearby woodland, loch, and ponds. Plus, it’s only a short drive from the historic town of Dunfermline and the heritage village of Culross.

Treecreeper Treehouse is one of my favourite, and most unique, glamping experiences in Scotland.
Tucked away up in the forest canopy, where all you can hear is the tweeting of birds, this stunning stay is all about being amongst nature. It comes with a wraparound deck, outdoor bath tub, and a log burner, so you can enjoy summer days and long evenings spent outdoors.
Treecreeper is a classic treehouse, with a wooden design and rustic decor but it’s also a wonderful choice if you like home comforts. There’s unlimited firewood for the stove, underfloor heating, an entertainment package with board games, communal sauna, and cosy bathrobes.
It features a super king-sized bed and bathroom with a shower. And an open-plan kitchen equipped with all the essentials, like an oven, hob, kettle, and a fridge with small freezer.
The area: There are brilliant views over the countryside and it’s a gorgeous spot to relax. However, there are also adventures to be found in the local area and you’ll find heaps of trails, cycles, and wild swims in the nearby Trossachs National Park.

Best places to go glamping in Scotland with a hot tub?
This depends on what part of Scotland you’re looking to visit, but my top picks for glamping with a hot tub are: Riverbeds Luxury Lodges (Glencoe), Off The Track (Crail), Craigduckie (Dunfermline), and Fyne Glamping (Inveraray).
Then there’s Arcadia Glamping Cabins (near Loch Loch Lomond) and Treecreeper Treehouse (near Trossachs National Park) with their gorgeous outdoor bathtubs.
What do I need to pack for glamping in Scotland?
I always recommend walking boots, warm layers, and waterproofs, so that I can split chilling out time with a countryside or coastal walk. Whilst for indoors, your cosiest pyjamas and slippers are a must! Also be sure to check if your glamping stay has a hot tub (remember to pack swim wear) or outdoor firepit (you’ll want a warm jacket).
On a more practical note, always check what amenities and equipment is available before setting off. For example, what does the kitchen include (especially for cooking), is there a DVD player, speaker, free Wi Fi, etc.
What about food?
Most often, glamping stays are self catering, so you’ll need to bring food and any fresh produce with you. Some of the stays on our list have local shops nearby and some offer breakfast hampers. Generally though, its best to stock up before your arrive.
Finally, be sure to pack those glamping essentials - like champagne and marshmallows for the firepit!
How many nights would you spend glamping in Scotland?
Personally, I recommend at least three nights for glamping in Scotland. it’s the perfect amount of time to really relax and unwind, soak in your rural surroundings, and make the most of your stays amenities like the hot tub or log burner. Then nearby, there are things like countryside walks, cafes, quaint villages, and the coast if you want to explore.
You’ll also find that many glamping stays often have a 3-night minimum booking in place.
